Where to get corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day

You're in luck. St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner and it's time to enjoy everything the luck of the Irish brings. Here's where you can get your fill of corned beef and cabbage around town, along with other Irish favorites. 

New Eagle Cafe

What: Corned beef sandwich, corned beef and cabbage plate
When: Friday, March 15 and Sunday, March 17

Details: Corned beef sandwich and soup ($13.25) and the fresh corned beef and cabbage plate ($17) are available every week as featured Friday specials at New Eagle Cafe. On St. Patrick's Day, both will be available all day. The sandwich comes with fries and your choice of mac or tossed salad. The plate comes with hot vegetables and white or brown rice. 

Like Like Drive Inn

What: Corned beef and cabbage plate
When: Friday, March 15 and Sunday, March 17

Details: Corned beef and cabbage is a featured Friday special at this diner as well, and on Sunday Like Like Drive Inn will serve it all day long. For $17, you get the entree, soup, a drink and dessert of ice cream, sherbet, Jell-O or pudding. 

Butcher & Bird

What: Corned beef by the pound, corned beef sausage with braised cabbage

Details: From Friday, Kakaako's Butcher & Bird will be selling corned beef for $10 a pound, meaning you can channel your inner Irish spirit and feast on corned beef and cabbage at home. At Saturday's SALT Bar Crawl, Butcher & Bird will sell corned beef sausage with braised cabbage and housemade Guinness mustard for $13. 

SALT Kakaako

Details: The popular SALT Bar Crawl returns for St. Patrick’s Day and with drinks from Village Bottle Shop & Tasting Room, Pitch Sports Bar and The Boiling Crab. Live music and entertainment will continue until closing times of the bars. Visit participating venues with a SALT Bar Crawl Passport and get it stamped for a chance to win raffle prizes. 

Anna Miller's

Details: This Aiea diner is selling corned beef and cabbage plates all St. Patrick's Day long while supplies last. For $14.65, you get the entree, your choice of dinner roll or cornbread, soup or salad and two sides (rice, coleslaw, mac salad or potato salad). 

Big City Diner

What: Fresh corned beef and Ka Lei eggs, fresh corned beef and Kunia cabbage, mint dessert specials

Details: Big City Diner's $14.49 fresh corned beef and Ka Lei eggs breakfast/brunch special comes with two fresh eggs and housemade corned beef. Choose white or brown rice, hash browns or paniolo potatoes. At lunch or dinner, fresh corned beef and Kunia cabbage ($17.99) comes with potatoes and carrots. Featured dessert specials for the occasion include an Oreo cookie mint-chocolate chip sundae ($5.49) with Dave's housemade double mint chocolate chip ice cream, and a double mint chocolate chip shake ($5.99).

Tip: The diner serves housemade corned beef hash all year long — at breakfast, you can get corned beef and eggs for $10.49.

Scratch Kitchen & Meatery

What: Corned beef and kimchee sandwiches

Details: On Sunday only, feast on Scratch Kitchen & Meatery's sammies stuffed with housemade corned beef with housemade kimchee, Swiss cheese and Gochujang aioli. Drink specials include Irish coffee.

Details: Corned beef and cabbage is a Thursday special at Christine's Diner, but the local spot will serve the entree all day Sunday for $8.95. Corned beef and cabbage plates come with your choice of rice, fries or mac or tossed salad. On St. Patrick's Day, breakfast will be served all day with specials including housemade corned beef hash. 

Kam Bowl

For dessert, Tiki's limited-edition Girl Scout Cookie Grasshopper Parfait made with layers of mint marshmallow creme and Thin Mint cookie crumbs will be available. Drink specials include Coors Light Green Beers ($5.50), Guinness Irish stouts ($7) and Jameson Whiskey ($7.50).

Matcha latte pancakes ($15) are available all day and include two buttermilk pancakes topped with green tea whipped cream, vanilla creme anglaise and brown sugar jelly. Corned beef and cabbage plates ($19.50) are available from 11 a.m. and come with potatoes, carrots and whole-grain mustard. 

Murphy's Bar and Grill

What: Grandest St. Patrick's Day in the Pacific

Details: Murphy's Bar and Grill will open at 11 a.m. for lunch in their restaurant and parking lot across the street. From noon to 3 p.m. there'll be a Keiki Fair with face-painting, crafts and balloons. The annual St. Patrick's Day Block Party begins at 4 p.m. at Nuuanu and Merchant streets, complete with live music and DJ stages, an oyster and seafood booth, a fish and chips booth, and a main food booth serving St. Paddy's favorites including steak sandwich, lamb shank, Irish whiskey cake and of course corned beef and cabbage. Admission is free, and Murphy's is donating $2 per pound of corned beef sold this week to the Hawaii Children's Cancer Foundation. 

Mid Pacific Country Club

Details: Mid Pacifc Country Club will host an Irish buffet featuring dishes including corned beef and cabbage, Irish salmon, cured sausage salad, Irish spring salad, shepard’s pie, boiled potatoes and assorted leprechaun-themed desserts. Regular menu service will also be available for dinner. The event is open to MPCC members and member guests and costs $32 per person.
