Bites of Korea is a mini-series of short videos documenting the delicious food mecca of Seoul, South Korea. Each episode is a tiny look into the cuisine and food culture found in every corner of the bustling metropolis, from Michelin-rated mandoo to street food.
If there’s one thing I learned while in Seoul, it’s that Koreans love fried chicken and they really love drinking games or any excuse to drink for that matter. One of my favorite memories from my trip was a stop at Kkanbu Chicken near Insadong. We had been walking along the shop-lined cobbled roads and met up with some new friends at this local favorite fried chicken restaurant. This is where I learned how to make “somek,” a soju bomb with a rather hypnotizing effect. From now on, this is how I’ll be drinking at a Korean bar!
