Continuing my meaty quest to find the best meat and cheese boards on Oahu, this is the sequel to Charcuterie on Oahu: Boards of Waikiki with spots from Ala Moana Center to Ko Olina Resort.
53 by the Sea
Charcuterie and cheese, $20
This board is only available at the bar during 53 by the Sea's daily happy hour from 4 to 6:30 p.m.. It features a daily assortment of cheese, meat, olives, caper berries, macadamia nuts, honey and walnut raisin toast.

Bluetree Cafe is hailed for its coffee, but the cafe now offers wine and charcuterie after 11 a.m. This $16 board features a rotating selection of cheeses and meats so you'll experience a variety of soft, medium and hard cheeses. I get the board during the Cafe's wine bar soft opening; at the time, it includes Gruyere, cheddar, Parmesan, hot Genoa salami, peppered Genoa salami and prosciutto. The board features a generous portion and can easily be shared among two or three people. It also comes with almonds, berries and mixed olives as palate cleansers.

Cheese and charcuterie board, $22
The charcuterie board at Bethel Union is now a new happy hour option with three types of cheese like brie, cambozola (blue cheese) and three cold cuts including slices of capicola, salami and soppressata.

Ploughman's Plate, $21
I love Bevy's happy hour because of the great discounts on craft cocktails and appetizers. Although this board isn't part of the happy hour menu, I still order it when I'm feeling extra.
The pate with whole-grain mustard is phenomenal and Bevy's boards often include prosciutto, salted beef bresaola and spicy capicola salami, but the selection rotates week by week. No matter what you get, you can bank on artisanal cheese and housemade pickled veggies to compliment.

Butcher & Bird
Charcuterie boards, $15 to $60
Butcher & Bird is known for offering premium cuts of meat and handcrafted sausages so it's only natural that the shop would have some amazing charcuterie too. According to butcher-owner Chuck Wakeman, charcuterie boards are a recent addition to the store's catering menu. Each board comes with a variety of meats, cheeses, mustards and spreads. If you're dining in and want to share a charcuterie board with two or three friends, just talk to one of the butchers and choose from the selection of meats and cheese available.
Prices vary on the number of people you're serving and the selection of meat and cheese you want (measured by weight). A small board feeds three to four people for $20; a medium board feeds 10 to 12 people for $40, and a large board feeds 15 to 20 for $60. A board that feeds up to three people costs between $15 and $20.

La Hiki Steak
Charcuterie, $24 to $32
The board at La Hiki Steak is a pupu that features the Chef Simeon Hall, Jr.'s daily preparation of in-house cured meats, fish and spreads. While the contents change daily and it could include a hot dog, smoked opah, beef pipikaula, beef short rib jerky, smoked salmon dip, bacon, salmon pate, beer sausage, ham, homemade Spam or chicken liver pate. Sometimes instead of opah, you'll receive a different type of smoked fish as the selection is highly seasonal. The meats pictured above: hot dog, smoked opah and pipikaula.
The board includes crostini, lavosh, honeycomb, mustard, mustard seeds and pickled vegetables and for $8 more, you can add a trio of cheeses (brie, manchego and blue cheese).

Chef's charcuterie of meat and cheese, $10
The chef's charcuterie selection is available during Mariposa's happy hour and includes one cheese from options like brie, gouda, manchego and more, and one charcuterie like wagyu beef or fennel pork salami to pair with lavosh, fruit jellies and spiced pecans. The petite board has a variety of textures and flavors, ranging from the creamy cheese to crunchy pecans and the puffy pillows of lavosh are almost too cute to eat and they're the perfect vessel for the items on the board.

R. Field Wine Bar (in Foodland Farms Ala Moana)
R. Field Grand Selection Board, $17.99
This board includes manchego, brie, and gorgonzola cheeses with sopressata, prosciutto di parma and truffle mousse pate. The textures and flavors of the three kinds of cheese are so different but work well together. The sticky sweet fig jam is great for spreading on the crunchy lavosh flat bread and I enjoy dipping the slightly salty Marcona almonds in it as well.
Insider tip: If you run out of lavosh, you can always ask for more.
Ala Moana Center • 1450 Ala Moana Blvd. • 949-5044
Charcuterie and cheese platter, $25
There's a lot going on with this platter featuring cuts of salami, prosciutto, habanero pepper jack, smoked gouda and spicy goat cheese. It also includes house-made IPA mustard and shredded pork rillette, similar to kalua pork. Square Barrels also includes a number of pickles including garlic, pepperoncini and cornichons to balance out the salty charcuterie and creamy cheese.
