Heads up if you love tacos: Mi Amita, the new taqueria at Waikiki's International Market Place, is headed downtown for Taco Tuesday tomorrow, July 10.
Mi Amita isn't just a taqueria. Its creator is Hugo Ortega, a James Beard Award-winning chef based in Houston, where Eater named him its Chef of the Year. Its flavors are from Oaxaca, where Ortega spent part of his childhood. And it's the newest restaurant at Michael Mina’s The Street Food Hall.
Mi Almita is breaking out their grill at Awesome eats tomorrow, where two of Ortega's famous pork carnitas tacos and chips with avocado tomatillo salsa will go for $10. In addition to the tacos, Mi Almita is bringing ice-cold horchata for $3.
We'll keep online pre-orders open through Tuesday morning and will have a limited number of taco plates and horchata available for purchase at the corner of Bishop and King streets at lunchtime. Pre-order to guarantee a plate, and please bring your email receipt for pickup!
