We’ve been praying for this day to come for a long time and the Gravy Gods have answered. The iconic Kapahulu restaurant Rainbow Drive-In is the next Awesome eats, our pop-up that brings hard-to-access restaurants and shops to downtown for one day only. They’re bringing a jumbo mix plate stuffed with bbq beef, mahi-mahi and boneless chicken with rice and mac salad, all for the awesome price of $10!
We’re limiting pre-orders to 200 so be sure to get your order in before we run out (we will bring a little extra on Friday for those who were unable to pre-order).
Known for their thicker-than-thick brown gravy, Rainbows has been serving up cheeseburgers, chili rice bowls and barbecue steak plates since 1961 and has been an institution ever since. In addition to the mix plate, we will have limited quantities of Rainbow Drive-In chili and brown gravy for purchase on the day of for $1 each.
Note: To make your online experience better, we’ve moved our pre-orders to a new service called Foxycart where the fees are lower and checkout is easier.
Since Awesome eats has been selling out, we recommend you pre-order to guarantee your mix plate. Or you can take your chances and come to the corner of Bishop and King streets downtown next Friday, April 7, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
See you next Friday!
