Eat the Street is tonight, Honolulu, 40 trucks and street food vendors slinging everything from red bean malasadas and shiitake empanadas to furikake fries and sushi cupcakes. Tonight’s theme, one year after the triple disaster that crippled Tohoku, is Japan, with nearly all vendors offering at least one Nihon-themed dish in addition to their regular menus.
Two in the mix are making their debut: the eclectic Isle Creations, with everything from plate lunches to Portuguese bean soup and smoothies, and Il Gelato. All details below. Here’s the full lineup and menu.
