Four Michelin star-rated Chef Kunio Tokuoka of Japan returns to Hawaii this spring for a series of epicurean events hosted by 53 By The Sea. The oceanfront venue will be transformed, offering guests an immersive experience inspired by Chef Tokuoka’s famed KYOTO KITCHO restaurants. Often heralded as the epitome of Japanese fine dining, KITCHO is well known among worldly epicureans for their impressive setting and ceremonious, multi-course menus.

Chefs' Omakase Lunch I Wednesday, March 6
Chef Kunio Tokuoka, Chef Alan Wong, and Chef Joshua Goetz come together to create an exceptional lunch experience. Combining fresh ingredients with the distinct flavors of both Kyoto and Hawaii, this specially prepared menu features the very best of their combined artistry.

Evening Extraordinaire I Thursday, March 7
Building upon the deep bonds of friendship between Japan and Hawaii, Chef Kunio Tokuoka, Chef Alan Wong, and Chef Joshua Goetz will transport diners while highlighting the unique flavors of
both countries during an elegant, multi-course meal. Wine pairing by Master Sommelier Patrick Okubo.

KYOTO KITCHO Experience I Friday, March 8
Nestled in Kyoto’s tranquil Arashiyama district, KYOTO KITCHO is considered the pinnacle of the kaiseki experience. Once a simple meal served during tea ceremonies, the practice has blossomed into a creative and immersive spread that awakens all of the senses. Chef Tokuoka is at the forefront of this evolution, developing new forms of expression that pay homage to kaiseki’s rich, 400-year history.
