Join us for an exclusive Local Inside members’ event at Kō Hana Agricole Rum in Kunia! See and experience how the distillery makes one of the world’s finest, single origin pure cane rums from Hawaiian sugarcane.
When the first Polynesians set sail for the Hawaiian Islands, nearly a thousand years ago, they brought select varieties of Kō – sugarcane. Kōwas used in daily life and as a key ingredient in many medicinal recipes and ceremonies. It also served as an offering to the Gods. These Kō plants produced the heirloom varietals of native Hawaiian sugarcane that exist today.
The tour will begin with a glass of fresh pressed cane juice, made from the native varieties of sugar cane brought to Hawaii by the early Polynesians. Learn how native Hawaiian cane sugar is distilled into one of the finest agricole rums in the world at the source. Wander through a garden of native Hawaiian sugarcanes to learn about its rich history. The tour will conclude at the rum bar, where you are invited to taste and compare the white and aged rums side-by-side. The tour includes a complimentary souvenir tasting glass.
