Come celebrate Oktoberfest at the next quarterly Feast for Farms Benefit Dinner on Saturday, October 5th from 5pm-9pm at and in support of Kahumana Organic Farms & Cafe. We are bringing the traditions of this worldly annual festival to O’ahu with gratuitous amounts of German fare, pints of beer, and fun festivities. The food will be served family style on large platters that include pretzels, sausages, schnitzel, spätzle, sauerkraut, potato salad, green beans and much more. We will have multiple kegs of beer donated from breweries that share our passion for sustainability. The festivities will include live music from Pierre Grill (traditional Oom Pah music), an Oktoberfest costume contest (more details below), a keg toss competition (see below) and a silent auction.
The Quarterly Feast for Farms Benefit Dinner series is designed to raise money to continue expanding farmland on Kahumana Organic Farm’s Kuwale property. We are excited to announce that we have leased an additional 8 acres where, after a lot of hard work to prepare the land, we can grow more local and organic produce on O’ahu.
Each event is hosted in collaboration with two co-sponsors, where we highlight their products and donate to their success. This Feast for Farms will be in support of Forage Hawaii and The Breadshop. Forage Hawaii is a locally owned business that works with local hunters and ranchers to bring customers a variety of wild game and sustainable meats including venison, lamb, antelope, wild boar and pork. The Breadshop is a locally owned bakery that produces some of the highest quality artisan bread that O’ahu has offer through monthly subscriptions. We want your help as we work together to make a better, more sustainable food system any way that we can. You can help us by purchasing general admission tickets or a company table (please call for additional details on company table packages).
There will be a limited amount of tickets sold and the ticket sales will end at 10am October 5th. Tickets are $100 per person. We encourage those with intentions of joining to purchase theirs tickets as early as possible as we expect them to move quickly. We hope to see you all there.
