We’ve visited Kaulana Chang before on my blog to talk about products at Razor Concepts, but this time, I wanted to feature him to talk about Kaulana Chang. You may have seen him around town working with 24-7 DanceForce or emceeing events on internet safety for kids … But you most likely have seen him in his role as a magician (which is why his Twitter, Instagram and Facebook handle is @MagicianKaulana).
He is doing a new spin on his magic for the holidays with two intimate dinner shows at Brasserie Du Vin in Chinatown. On December 21 and 28 (with your prepaid ticket), you can get a special “magic” menu featuring Caprese sphere salad; choice of “Rabbit in the Hat,” braised rabbit and root vegetables in a crispy pastry or braised pork shoulder, sweet potato au gratin, string beans with a herb jus.
Kaulana will go from table to table performing magic during dinner. After dinner, everyone walks across the street to eleven44 (the former Bambu Two) for his full show. And after the show, you can walk back to Du Vin for dessert (magic red velvet cake) and coffee.
It’s a cool concept and since I got to watch Kaulana in a preview show recently, we stayed to interview him and video some of his magic. Here’s our magical interview:
We talked to Miki Lee of Du Vin and eleven44 about the show and the menu, and got some additional surprises. Visit HawaiiIRL.com to see more!
