The Hawaii Foodbank held its annual Great Chefs Fight Hunger this past weekend, a fundraising gala in their Mapunapuna warehouse. About 600 guests enjoyed grazing from 20 different booths with creative dishes by  renowned Oahu chefs, plus wine, beer, sake, cocktails and soft drinks from several beverage companies.

It was such a big event, I broke the photos into two galleries — one of the food, drinks, and chefs; and one of the party crowd.

Sansei Seafood brought Chinese-style braised short ribs with potato fondue, roasted Hamakua mushrooms and lotus root.

To add to the excitement, there was a live auction, silent auction, live entertainment, and a “Cellar Door”: You could buy keys to unlock a door, and the winner got all 60 bottles of high-end wine behind it.

Nice pics!  I really enjoyed eating the Poke Stop Fried Green Tomato, Osso Buco Ravioli, and the steak from HASR Bistro.  Yum!

Delicate Blossom:  Thanks for breakfast and lunch...fuud pix filled me up!  Is that girl in  the Paradise Beverages shot that slim?  She needs some serious meat on her bones!!  I wish I could be that slim!!  It just dawned on me that this gala fund raiser with such great fuud helps to buy canned pork and beans!  Quality to get Quantity, I guess.

 @madehealthier I heard good things about HASR's stuff but by the time I got there, I was too full and could only eat with my eyes. :(

Every year so far, I haven't been able to sample from every food station!

 @Annoddah_Dave yes, I think she is that skinny! And yes, the foodbank has several fundraisers throughout the year, this one is a gala and they do it in the warehouse so the donors & sponsors can see the facility as well. Also the money buys not just canned goods, but fresh produce as well, and funds other programs to feed the hungry.

 @Melissa808  My strategy that night was... take a photo of the dish for my blog, take a bite or two to taste, then give the plate to my dad to eat the other half. So we each only ate half a plate of everything. But that way I was pretty much able to make it through all the dishes. Except dessert...was too full to try all of them. But the ones I did try were ono!  :)
