DR & JK: Thanks...that was very informative and interesting. I am not a power user but do any of these apps do backup of computer drives or is that an entirely different thing. Am going to look up some of your suggestions. Thanks also for clarifying the security aspect of these apps. That was one of my major concerns going in.

@Annoddah_Dave thanks for your kind words. Just to clarify, are you wanting to back up you external drives or just the internal ones. Most of the things we mentioned are file type backups but for a really killer whole computer backup I like Crash Plan (see episode 1 http://www.nonstophonolulu.com/tech/nstpodcast1/ )

@docrock@Annoddah_Dave Here is a second vote for Crash Plan. I use it and Shiori uses it also. It is very easy to set up and then it does its magic as soon as you are on a wireless or wired network.
