Five geeky ways to be more productive

Everybody talks about not having enough time to do the things they want, and every year, people resolve to try to do more. Productivity is the fourth subject we’re tackling in our series on getting you some tech help for your New Year’s resolutions.

This is my favorite topic, and it’s really hard to be inclusive with just five geeky ways. This bare-bones list is basically the five apps I would opt for if stranded on an island. We cover more of these apps in detail on the Nonstop Tech Podcast, so look there if you want to explore more options.

Five geeky ways to be more productive

Having to memorize a plethora of different passwords has become the norm in our daily computer lives. But what if I told you there was an easy solution to this dilemma? There are a few choices out there, but the best, in my opinion, is 1Password. You choose one master password, and the application will allow you to store all the passwords so you never have to use the same one. Or, take it one step further and allow 1Password to create a password. All of this is stored securely, so there is nothing to worry about.

As a bonus, 1Password allows you to save notes in a vault that only your one password can open. The cherry on top of the bonus is the fact that there are mobile apps that will allow you access your saved passwords on the go.

1Password is available for $49.99.

@theRemix first time I've heard of this. Playing with it now. Workflowy is like TaskPaper as a web app. Looks cool. I like the Mobile version too but the text file lover in me would love a way to save the file to dropbox. Nice call sir.
