Who’s coming: Eat the Street Japan

This month’s Eat the Street food truck rally will serve as a fundraiser for Japan, with 32 trucks and street food vendors not only creating unique, Japanese-themed dishes, but in some cases, donating a portion of their sales to the American Red Cross Japan relief fund.

When: Thursday, March 31 from 5-9 p.m.
Where: 555 South St. in Kaka’ako (at Halekauwila, kitty-corner from Restaurant Row)
Admission: Free
Parking: On-site and street parking
Organizer: StreetGrindz.com (Poni Askew), partnering with Kamehameha Schools, Kamehameha Schools Malama Card and Nonstop Honolulu

All food trucks and vendors will offer Malama Card discounts. To get a free card, visit the Malama Card booth at Eat the Street; download a free Malama Card app on your iPhone; visit the mobile website at m.malamacard.com; print a temporary card at home; or get one from a participating merchant.

i like it too. esp love the preview of jpn-themed items. only thing is i'd like to know where the trucks are usually based. as a townie, i use ets to try foods from way-out spots.
