The inaugural Sailor Jerry Festival, brainchild of Jason Miller from and Josh 86 from Downbeat, took over six Chinatown venues on the anniversary of the legendary tattoo artist’s death: Old Ironside Tattoo (Sailor Jerry’s old tattoo shop location), Bar 35, Downbeat Lounge, NextDoor, The Manifest and Black Cat Tattoo with Sailor Jerry influenced art, live music, a pin-up themed party, rum drinks, motorcycles and tattoos, of course.

Some highlights of the night: Meeting special guest Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins’ son Dave Collins, Old Ironside realizing that their $50 “mystery tattoo” special was way too popular, the pin-up model fashion show at Bar 35, packed sets by Black Square and Anti-Matter at Downbeat and Go Jimmy Go’s last show of 2015 at NextDoor.
