Frolic’s inaugural Honolulu PokeFest happens next Saturday, a poke-licious evening unparalleled in the history of our beloved raw fish cuisine. Which is saying a lot, right? But picture this:
You’re on the waterfront, in the air-conditioned comfort of Pier 11 at downtown’s Aloha Tower. You walk into a scene of unlimited poke from 15 restaurants, build-your-own poke bowls and a complete bar of poke fixings. MW, Koko Head Cafe, Roy Yamaguchi’s Eating House 1849 and Forty Carrots at Bloomingdale’s are dishing up scoops next to Tamashiro Market, Ahi Assassins, Tanioka’s. It’s a poke lover’s dream come true. Plus there’s icy Shaka Tea to quench your thirst, no-host libations, a deejay spinning and ticket giveaways.
You pick up your chopsticks. Where to start? Here’s your guide to all the onolicious poke you’ll eat on Saturday, July 22.
