Honolulu Night Market Summer in the Park

Saturday was the summer solstice, and Honolulu spent the longest day of the year at Honolulu Night Market. A huge crowd came out to check out the many events, from the fashion show, street performers to a vintage Volkswagen Car display. There also was a great array of food, from Kalua pork with super food slaw to sweet gelato.

The packed Pinch of Salt/Kakaako Agora warehouse had enough shopping opportunities to dress yourself from head to toe in new gear. You could also get crafty making your own flower crown or flower wristlet.

Don’t miss out on the next Honolulu Night Market on Saturday, July 19. Here are a few highlights from this month:

Kaka'ako is definitely picking up steam as a happening night spot with huge crowds showing up at events like this Honolulu Night Market. I had a wonderful time and felt the event was very well run.  However, in some areas it was too packed to walk through so I hope as more condos and commercial developments expand in the area, city planners keep in mind that parks and other open spaces are essential to keeping a good balance.
