Greek Festival

The 31st Greek Festival happens at Ala Moana Park's McCoy Pavilion this weekend, promising major eating, drinking and dancing. Organizers expect 10,000 people per day for the two-day fest.

Co-chair Eres Eddy wants you to know they won't skimp on the food. She's introducing an Olympic plate showcasing everything on offer: Greek chicken, spanakopita, mousaka, dolmathes, feta cheese, pita bread, salad, rice, olives and baklava. Enough for two for $24. Ala carte, everything runs from $2 to $7.

Don't know what half that stuff is? Click on, we'll explain.

EO: Retsina (sp?) is going to flow as well? Haven't been for awhile as it gets super crowded and there is no place to sit after awhile. Hopefully, the fest makes money, unlike the country which is in dire straits.

I look forward to the Greek Festival every year!! It's hot & the lines can get ridiculously long, but the food is delicious & the ouzo is so potent that just a few sips will ALMOST give you enough liquid courage to dance to the mesmerizing Greek music in front of the stage! Opa!!
