Photographer Dallas Nagata White and Edward White had an opportunity to go behind the scenes Thursday evening to shoot the cast and crew of “Avenue Q” before their opening performance at Manoa Valley Theatre.
The highly anticipated adult musical comedy — the local incarnation of the revered Broadway show — features puppets and humans in a sharp-witted and hilarious coming-of-age parable. The plot centers on characters who lament that as children, they were assured by their parents, and by shows like “Sesame Street,” that they “could do anything,” but as adults, they have discovered a different reality. “Avenue Q” runs through April 3.
