When we introduced Awesome eats, a new pop-up series bringing hard-to-get-to treats to the downtown lunch crowd, we didn’t expect to sell out. But we did — first with a custom Frolic bento from Tanioka’s and then with a four-pack of sweetness from Hawaiian Pie Co. This Friday, by popular request, Waipahu’s iconic Tanioka’s is back, this time with two bentos.
The spicy ahi over sushi rice is already pretty famous. The other bento is totally new: mochiko chicken with fish patty, teri Spam, teri hot dog and fried noodles.
Hungry yet? Both will be available this Friday, Aug. 12 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the corner of Bishop and King streets, cash only. Spicy ahi is $7 and the mochiko chicken bento is $10. See you on Friday!
Don’t forget to bring your pre-order receipt when you pick up!
