Spam Jam on Saturday drew thousands of Spam lovers (and even many who’ve never tasted it) to Kalakaua Avenue for the mega streetfest, featuring Spamalicious dishes from some 20 food vendors.
We had a chance to chat with Nicole Behne, Spam’s Brand Marketing Director, who flew in from Hormel headquarters in Austin Minnesota, for the festivities. She’s a huge fan of the Waikiki Spam Jam. “I wish I could bottle the energy here and take it to the Mainland,” she says. “Last year, we were trending worldwide for 24 hours after the event. Every year, we think we can’t make it bigger and better, but every year, it gets bigger and better.”
