The fight to end breast cancer will take a fashionable turn as Susan G. Komen Hawaii presents its fifth annual Pink Tie Ball at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Friday, March 18, 2016.
This year’s honoree is Angela Pratt, M.D., who as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kapiolani Medical Center, Clinical Assistant Professor at John A. Burns School of Medicine, and her decades of involvement in the beauty and fashion industry, is being recognized for excellence in the field of women’s health, including breast health and awareness.
Tying high couture in with the effort to find the cures for breast, four design stars from Project Runway will be showcasing fashions from their latest collections: Ari South, Kini Zamora, Sean Kelly and Alexander Knox. Modeling their pieces will be breast cancer survivors and some of Hawaii’s top models. These generous designers are taking their philanthropy one step further by donating one outfit for a live auction, which will be custom-fit for the auction winner.
