Eat the Street: Eat Local will bring a record 39 food trucks and street food vendors to Kakaako tonight, the last night of Hawaii’s Eat Local month, and that means good things for our taste buds and our islands. Every vendor will have at least one dish featuring local ingredients like Big Island beef, Kahaluu pork, Kahuku shrimp, local fish, tomatoes, corn, greens, herbs, fruits, even Hawaii-grown chocolate.
Joining the scene tonight will be four first-time vendors and All Kine Ice Cream Truck, making its first metro appearance after debuting at this month’s ETS Mililani. Why All Kine? Because you can go all-out Willy Wonka with your own creations of brownies, cones, waffles, taro bread, croissants, furikake puffs, whipped cream, homemade marshmallows, chocolate sauce and ice cream, or you can go for All Kine’s sweet bread sandwiches, bananas foster or papaya bread pudding.
