Last year Seoul Sausage, season 3 winner of Food Network’s “Great American Food Truck Race,” came to Hawaii to share their bold Korean sausages at Honolulu Night Market and IN4MATION.

This year they’re teaming up with Zippy’s, which hasn’t served a hot dog with a bun since October 2009. That’s about to change starting May 1st as select Zippy’s locations roll out a new kalbi dog with a Hawaii twist.

It starts with a Seoul Sausage kalbi dog. Then comes Zippy’s slaw, kim chee and a drizzle of sriracha mayo, all nestled inside three King’s Hawaiian sweetbread dinner rolls.

After winning the “Great American Food Truck Race,” Seoul Sausage went on to brick-and-mortar glory in Los Angeles. If you want to sample the kalbi sausage sandwich and meet Yong and Ted Kim of Seoul Sausage, you’ll get your chance at two tastings today and Friday.
