Elements at the Modern hosted a special anniversary celebration for the Honolulu branch of Japanese footwear boutique Flag-J’s first anniversary, plus the launch of TabooxJump, a collaboration between celebrity DJ Taboo of The Black Eyed Peas and Jump, a high-end footwear brand based in New York City. The night featured local and international streetwear vendors for the first time, with brands like Spiral Girl, Koi Boutique and others representing, and performances by three members of dance group HYPE, recently featured on “America’s Got Talent,” with twin dancers Tiara and Tamara Rapp from the all-girls dance crew 8 Flavahz. Until 10 p.m., a VIP party with Flag-J and Jump brand heads and DJ Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas happened on the upper pool deck studio suites, with the after-party moving down to ADDICTION and the Study Bar later on.
