Bar and club-hoppers in cheerful Santa hats and holiday bling traversed the streets of Chinatown Saturday night for the annual 12 Bars of Xmas Charity Club Crawl.
This year, the crawl had a threefold mission: To raise funds for the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation, to help fund the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific and to support local clubowner Daniel Gray of NextDoor with his medical bills, after he was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor.
The participating bars and clubs:
Bar 35 (check-in headquarters), Manifest, Downbeat Lounge (hosting Botoroke Christmas karaoke), The Dragon Upstairs, O’Toole’s, Murphy’s, Rakuen, Eleven44 (Old BambuTwo), Mercury Bar, J.J. Dolan’s, thirtyninehotel (hosting live music by Taimane Gardner, Streetlight Cadence, and Commodore Perry and the Family Band, body painting & a fashion show by Urban Gypsy) and NextDoor (hosting Slow & Low Dubstep and a silent auction for charity). Cover for the entire crawl was $25, which included entry to all the venues, plus a Santa hat and chance to win valuable raffle prizes if you completed a card for eight of 12 bars or brought a toy to donate.
